Mark Walter / Fine Art MA

My artwork has evolved over the last two years from looking at social, political and cultural issues to a more process led practice. I work in series producing pieces reliant on action and spontaneity; using materials such as found blocks of wood, corrugated cardboard, cardboard tubes and stencils to apply paint to canvas. Using techniques such as these gives the work unpredictability, outcomes are often unclear, but experience has enabled me to embrace the uncertainty of this process. Working in this way, being led by chance is often a starting point which reveals the limbs of something new.
