My project is about women’s equality. Specifically, this project focuses on the unfair traditional roles of women, the restrictions on the fields of work available to them and the behaviour caused by discrimination against women in society. My digital paintings’ key words are ‘female’ ‘freedom’ and ‘restriction’. I think that cocoon can be a metaphor for the unfair treatment and bondage of women, but cocoon is also the place where butterflies are bred. Butterflies symbolise beauty and freedom. I hope to express in my works that women will overcome the difficulties, break the inequality, and achieve real female equality. I decided the clue of my work is this butterfly.
